Come and join us for a relaxing day of weaving at the lovely Wistow Rural Centre. Our delightful knitters looms will be set up and ready to go so you can get straight into weaving!
Emily will teach you how to weave, wind your stick shuttle, change colour, take the scarf off the loom, make tassels and tie in loose ends. By the end of the day you will be able to take home your own hand-woven bespoke scarf!
There will be time to think about your design, whether you would like a plain and sophisticated scarf, a type of stripe or feel free to really let your creative juices flow and try lots of different colours and textures with our fabulous chunky yarns.
This is the perfect introduction to weaving for absolute beginners and those wanting to broaden their skills and try the knitters loom and fringe twister.
“Really enjoyed the whole course. A nice mix of people & the chance to try a new craft with an end product to take home.”
– Dawn
The workshop will run from 10am (please arrive after 09:45am) and finish at 4pm.
The price includes all materials and use of top of the range equipment. You only need to bring yourself and some glasses for close-up work if you need them! Please do bring any of your own fancy yarns or home-spun yarns to experiment with!
There is free parking and free tea and coffee throughout the day. We really recommend the onsite cafe for your lunch. It is truly delicious. Do feel free however to bring a pack lunch. More venue information can be found at http://www.wistow.com/rural.asp.
